Our theological roots

We believe in the historic Christian faith, as expressed in the Holy Bible and our Statement of Faith. For this community, theology is not an empty tradition — it is the bedrock of a well-lived & born-again life. We are committed to a Gospel that is as vibrant today as ever, and calls us to a life of repentance, grace, and community.

Core Convictions

Scripture Authority

We accept the Holy Bible as the inerrant, infallible, and inspired Word of God, without any mixture of error. In a world that is increasingly confused and disorienting, we hold to the timeless Word of God, which provides the only rightful foundation for families and individuals to grow and thrive.

Gospel Focus

The life and ministry of Jesus Christ is our blueprint. We equip families with the spiritual tools to live with grace, integrity, and a commitment to love like Christ. The Gospel teaches us clearly: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life — no one comes to the Father except through Him.

Mission Mindset

Too many churches take themselves too seriously. We believe His yoke is easy, and His burden is light; therefore, church should be as accessible and welcoming as possible.

Authentic Community

We reject superficial connection. This is a community where we can be honest about our struggles and find the support we need. No Perfect People Allowed.

Generational Legacy

Our vision extends beyond the present moment. We are investing in a spiritual heritage that will guide the next generations to Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

Above all else...
Jesus Christ is Lord.

We share a common heritage with the very first missions that came to West Tyler in 1854 - a legacy of gospel proclamation, shared life, and multi-generational faithfulness. While times and cultures have changed, our calling has remained the same: to worship Jesus Christ, to live together in Christian community, and to pass on a living faith to the next generation.

Community Church holds to a traditional baptistic and evangelical Christian faith. As our official statement of faith, this body has adopted the BF&M 2000. We also affirm the Nicene Creed and other historic statements.

We believe the Bible is the inspired and trustworthy Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice. We confess one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created all things and is actively at work in the world. We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection reconcile sinners to God. The Church is the body of Christ, called to gather in worship, grow in discipleship, and go in faithful obedience, living lives marked by love, holiness, and service.
